Sullivan passed a $25 million bond referendum to replace their 100 year old middle school with a new high school. Their existing high school would turn into the middle school with both buildings attached via connecting corridors, as was the case with the old middle school. The new building will be the face of the campus and bring the Sullivan schools in line with modern educational needs.
The project consists of demolishing the existing middle school, bus storage, and maintenance buildings with a construction of a new 75,400 sf, two story high school building that is attached to the existing middle school by two connecting corridors. The new building has 21 classrooms including science labs, computer labs, consumer science lab, and a state-of-the-art choral room. The building also has office areas for the high school and district offices, performance gymnasium including weight room, second floor running track, elevator, and two storm shelters.
