Monmouth Park District partnered with the Canton studio to create new headquarters in Monmouth, Illinois. With a focus on meeting immediate needs—vehicle storage, office space, a mechanical room, and a restroom—while working within budget constraints, the project was driven by both practicality and aspiration. This project came to fruition due to the generous funding of the Pattee Foundation.
The design began with a base bid for a free-standing storage building, and evolved to include additional offices, a restroom, a conference room, and more sitework. Inspired by a desire to connect the community, the Park District also envisioned a walking path connected to the adjacent Pattee Park. This thoughtful addition not only enhanced the design but also created a lasting bond between the headquarters and the surrounding area, embodying the Park District’s commitment to growth, connection, and community.
