Tom Hyde specializes in new construction and renovation, cultivating vast experience in master planning and design, as well as energy analysis and sustainable design, over his career as an architect.
Tom graduated from the University of Illinois School of Architecture. Prior to joining Graham & Hyde in 1974, he served three years as a project designer and architect with other central Illinois architectural firms, engaged in the planning and design of educational facilities, religious structures, commercial facilities and office buildings.
Tom was elected to the positions of principal and director of Graham & Hyde Architects in 1981.
Today, he brings his passions for master planning, energy analysis, ADA and asbestos compliance, sustainable design and code conformance to educational and religious projects.
Tom is a native of Beardstown. He and his wife Janis, a retired special education teacher, have six children and eight grandchildren, scattered across the central states.
In his free time, he enjoys watercolor painting, golfing, fly-fishing, gardening and traveling, being particularly partial to Paris. He’s a member of the American Institute of Architects, Construction Specification Institute, Environmental Information Association and National Fire Protection Association.
